Community History

Phase I known as The Yacht Club of the Nautical Chase subdivision was initially developed in 2002 by Firm Ground LLC, a residential development company founded by brothers Brent and Craig Stratton. Their initial intentions were to primarily focus on the construction aspects of turning their family farm into a resort-style residential development business rather than focusing on home building, but the overwhelming response from new construction home buyers prompted them to include general contracting in their services for the purpose of offering quality residential custom home building. The property was previously used as a cattle and tobacco farm by generations of their family for several decades. The brothers had spent much of their lives as avid boaters on the weekends so it made perfect sense to utilize the uniquely located natural terrain on their property in keeping with the idea of creating a nautical theme for the resort-styled development. Due to its prime location near downtown Lawrenceburg and the Highway 127 bypass, the Nautical Chase subdivision provides all readily available underground utilities throughout the development and is considered one of the most environmentally friendly neighborhoods throughout our community.

A beautiful landscaped lake is ideally located between the first and second phases of the development and is surrounded by several premier home sites throughout the subdivision. The magnificent views available are awe-inspiring and unmatched in comparison to most residential developments throughout the community and Lawrenceburg area. Features available on the HOA common grounds include a lighted water fountain, a replica of a miniature lighthouse and a pavilion style gazebo which are all surrounded by an open “community" park area that is available for the use and enjoyment of all homeowners in the Nautical Chase subdivision. Amenities include a lighted landscaped masonry stone entrance complete with nautical lanterns and pedestrian friendly sidewalks that exist throughout the development which includes a custom designed walkway bridge located on the common grounds that surrounds the lake. Identical custom designed mailboxes and street signs adds to a charming curb appeal which enhances the experience of resort-style living as it was meant to be.

The Yacht Club, referred to as Phase I of the subdivision consists of twenty-six premier home sites. Harbour Pointe, referred to as Phase II of the subdivision consists of forty-two premier home sites. The majority of these premier and upper scaled homes in the Nautical Chase subdivision were built by many of Lawrenceburg's premier custom homebuilders including the developer, Firm Ground LLC.

The Nautical Chase subdivision is nestled into the countryside of the quiet rolling hills of the Bluegrass which is almost nearly hidden from sight and ideally located on Highway 44 (Glensboro Road) just under three-quarters of a mile west of the Highway 127 Bypass in Lawrenceburg, KY. Our location is within minutes of the many medical care/urgent treatment facilities, drug stores, fire protection/municipalities, schools, shopping centers, restaurants, Four Rose’s and Wild Turkey distilleries, as well as downtown Lawrenceburg. We also have access by golf cart to the Wild Turkey Trace Golf Course where food and a full service bar is available seven days a week.

We think you will more than appreciate what Nautical Chase has to offer. The class alone speaks for itself. Nautical Chase is Lawrenceburg's most affordable best kept secret. We welcome you to come and see for yourself!
